Ark’n About is a Mobile and Online Op Shop initiative of At The Ark Inc., created to bring practical support, dignity, and hope directly into our communities.
More than just a charity shop on wheels and online, Ark’n About has a two-fold purpose. We provide affordable clothing and essential household items to individuals and families experiencing hardship — particularly those impacted by child sexual abuse, family violence, and domestic violence. At the same time, Ark’n About raises vital funds to support At The Ark’s counselling, trauma recovery, and community education programs.
By bringing our Mobile Op Shop to neighbourhoods, community events, and partner locations, we meet people where they are, offering support in a welcoming and respectful way. Every item sold has been generously donated by our community and lovingly prepared by volunteers — turning everyday goods into meaningful change.
We are incredibly grateful to The James Frizelle Charitable Foundation for their generous support of this vital initiative. Thanks to their grant, Ark’n About has now been able to purchase its very own Mobile Op Shop trailer — a significant step forward in expanding our reach and impact.
Our trailer is currently on the road with temporary signage, and we are excited to soon unveil a professionally sign-written version. So keep a look out — you might just spot Ark’n About in your local community!
